Contract Kenfield, manufacturer of the revolutionary Unico® Door System, won the
contract to supply PVC Strip Door to one of the UK\'s leading confectioners,
after the failure of a competitor product.

Elisabeth the Chef, which supplies confectionery products to virtually every leading
supermarket chain, has five bakeries in the Midlands. Its production facility in
Leamington Spa had been experiencing problems with the href=\"http://www.spanker.in/transflex.htm\">PVC Strip Door to its High Care
area since recent construction work was completed.

Group Engineering and Maintenance Manager, Geoff Benson explains:

\"A basic design fault meant that the old PVC Strip Door frequently came off the peg
attaching them to the floor. Ultimately, this bent the doorframe, which meant the
PVC Strip Door would not shut properly. In a High Care area where the strictest
standards of hygiene are maintained, this was totally unacceptable.\"

\"Kenfield was recommended to us by RCS who carry out all of our refrigeration
panelling. We were impressed by the design of their Unico door system and awarded
them the contract to install new flexible PVC doors in our Leamington outlet.\"

The doors separate the oven outlet area, where temperatures can rise to around 30°C,
from the High Care creamery, where a constant temperature of 14°C must be
maintained. Their tough wipe-clean PVC surface is ideally suited to
hygiene-sensitive area.

Frequent traffic from pallet trucks laden with cakes puts the door system\'s robust
construction to the test.

Geoff concludes:

\"The Unico\'s patented frame construction is far superior to the painted steel tubing
of most conventional doors because it doesn\'t rust or chip. We are very happy with
the new doors.\"
